Surgical Specialties
At Rothman Animal Hospital, surgery
is performed on a daily basis in a specially-dedicated surgical suite. Two surgical nurses assist with anesthesia and procedures, and our veterinarians are experienced in a wide range of surgical services, including spaying
and neutering, oral surgery (including extractions), orthopedic surgery, abdominal surgery, and reproductive surgery
such as C-sections.
Keeping You Informed
Before your pet's surgery, you receive detailed instructions to minimize complications and infection. Your veterinarian also follows up on your pet's progress and is available to answer any questions.

Pet Dentistry
Your dog or cat's happy, carefree life should be unbothered by dental concerns, right? Think again. Vets say 85 percent of canines and felines over age 4 have some form of gum disease. Other frequent problems include bad breath, crooked, cracked or loose teeth, an infection or an abscess.
You may not even know when your dog or cat has oral discomfort. This is part of his ancestry — in the wild, showing pain would make them vulnerable to attack. Today's domestic canines and felines maintain this instinct, so you have to do your best to watch for signs: bad breath, changes to eating habits or loss of appetite, unusual night awakenings, rubbing the face against things or facial swelling.

If your dog or cat's problem requires a procedure -- such as a tooth extraction or professional cleaning -- after pre-surgical bloodwork he will be given a general anesthetic to make him more comfortable during the procedure. When he wakes up, he'll be happy to be relieved of that nagging ache in his mouth!

for dogs, cats and exotics in impeccably clean indoor canine kennels and separate kitty condos, complete with toys, fresh filtered air, ambient music and nature sounds, and plenty of love and attention!
Best of all, you can rest assured that your pet is in a clean, safe, supervised environment while you are gone.
As a veterinary hospital, we carefully screen our pet guests and require proof of up-to-date vaccinations before a pet is accepted for boarding. All pets in our care have been vaccinated against contagious diseases including Bordetella (kennel cough), Feline HIV, and Feline Leukemia. Cats have all been tested for FIV and feline leukemia. All dogs have had a recent flea treatment application (Advantage, Frontline, Advantix). In the unlikely event that your pet becomes ill while in our care, he or she will be seen by one of our experienced veterinarians at the first signs of illness. With your permission, we will provide expert care and treatment, as necessary.

For Dog Guests: Exercise, Walks and TLC
Bring your dog's favorite toys, his food and treats, and any medication he needs to take. We'll take care of the rest. Clean bedding, fresh water, and lots of petting and attention are his every day. Each dog is walked every 2 hours, for a total of 6 supervised romps out in the play yard, or in the field, whichever he likes best.
Dogs receive treats and lots of praise and attention upon their return. While he'll be happy to see you and to go home, he won't mind coming back for a visit. We take good care of our guests, from head to toe.

For Cat Guests: Freedom to climb, play and sleep
Cats and kittens are treated like the royalty they are in our spacious kitty condo room, which allows cats to roam, play, eat and perch on carpeted towers and cubbies safely and happily.
Bring your cat's food, treats, medications and any special effects he may desire. When you come to pick him up, he'll be relaxing, as usual. After all, he was on vacation, too.

Our caring kennel staff provides each pet with lots of love and attention during their stay at our boarding facility.
These pets include FELV-FIV positive cats, boarding exotics, and dogs needing assistance with walking.
Hospitalized pets and/or diabetic animals will be assessed a $35.00 technician fee on weekends only. An additional $15.00 technician fee will be assessed on holidays.
Our kennel is fully staffed during normal hospital hours, however, overnight is quiet time and our staff in not on duty.
Pets picked up before noon will not be charged for that day.
